Sallyanne Lowe
Sallyanne's passion for making and metalwork began at a very young age. She trained as a goldsmith at London's Central St. Martins school of art (BA) and the Royal College of Art (MA) in the 90's. Her interest in wax carving and modelling led to two years as an architectural model maker after which Sallyannne began her jewellery business in Clerkenwell, London's jewellery quarter. Now established as a precious jeweller working in the finest materials and gemstones, Sallyanne works in the vibrant and artistic South London. Her popular 'spiral’ collection has been delighting customers since the early days. Work now includes intricate carved leafy patterns inspired by the nature of Londons green spaces, and geometrics inspired by the urban landscape of the city. Often playing with coloured gems, using the colour palates of green and red Tourmaline, deep blue and pink Sapphire, Aquamarine, and diamonds.
Sallyanne's style is detailed and textured and lends itself to the traditional technique of wax carving. Also using newer technologies like machine engraving and precious metal clay - in a search for unique forms - the result is jewellery subtle enough for everyday wear, but with a strong designer aesthetic. Following her ethos to make jewellery which is both wearable and timeless. A lasting memento to give or to receive.
