Dazzle Invites | Lina Peterson
Lina Peterson’s work is a playful exploration of carved and painted wood in combination with other materials such as metal and semi-precious beads. Working with how colour and material come together to create a visual dialogue about process, form, and surface is at the core of her practice. The use of colour has always been central to her work and something she’s investigated through projects such as ‘Carved in Colour’ and ‘Testing Colour’.
Painting and carving are the main techniques used in the making of the work, and having worked with wood for over fifteen years she is very familiar with the processes she uses, but always aim to surprise herself when making, to generate results that feel intuitive, yet new. These visual qualities are as important as the tactile qualities of the work and as the lime wood used is very light, it makes all of the pieces very wearable and easy to wear.
Lina Peterson's is showing an exclusive range of jewellery as part of the third edition of our virtual Dazzle exhibition – Dazzle Invites.
Dazzle invites 30 contemporary jewellers, showing unique, one-off or limited edition designs, created specially for the exhibition. All pieces are available to purchase from 16 November 2022 – 8 January 2023.
