This brooch is slightly domed and it is made from sterling silver and 24ct gold and it measures 30mm in diameter. The technique used is an ancient Korean one called Keum boo, where the gold is fused to the silver. Letters and symbols have been punched into the surface by hand and the surface of the brooch is given a worn effect to simulate the look of an antique found object. The inspiration for the marks on this piece came from looking at old nautical instruments.
