Elsiem
Cambridge based Lorraine Hitt is the designer and creator of Elsiem Jewellery, whose designs are inspired by modern architectural and sculptural forms & have a very simple and bold style, with an edge.
Lorraine has qualifications in 3D & Interior Design and has won 2 awards with Goldsmiths' Craft & Design Council for her Jewellery Shop Interior Concept Design. Her designs are heavily influenced by her extensive career in the design industry, spanning a few disciplines such as Graphic, 3D Conceptual and Architectural Interior - always mindful of not just the aesthetics but also the functionality and practicality of a design, aiming for the wearer to have the best experience possible.
She has utilised her forma CAD skills with her metalwork training to design Elsiem Jewellery’s latest collections. These designs have been created using a 3D printing process, using a lightweight and highly durable material called Selective Laser Sintered Nylon. The print is polished, then dyed for colour application and some of these pieces are adorned with textured brass or gold filled metal elements, stylishly combining the cutting-edge technology and traditional metalwork and jewellery making skills - creating a striking contrast of matt black and gold tone jewellery.
