Dazzle Invites | Emma Morris
Emma Morris is a Scottish contemporary jeweller, designer and maker based in Glasgow. She graduated from The Glasgow School of Art in 2019 with a BA (Hons) in jewellery design where she started to develop her collection of jewellery titled ‘Playscapes’. Following her time at university, Emma has developed this fun and playful collection, which features both art and fashion jewellery.
Emma’s bold, fun and structural jewellery is inspired by playground play structures and theme parks. Her practice includes a tactile approach to thinking and making and she uses both non-precious coated metals and precious metals as well as jesmonite in her jewellery. Inspired by the industrial colourful coatings on climbing frames, Emma utilises the process of powder coating to apply a colourful coating on her jewellery. She also enjoys introducing tactile ‘bubbly’ forms inside some of the structural frames she makes, adding a playful quality to her pieces. Through combining materials and techniques, Emma creates statement jewellery that is fun and colourful.
Emma Morris is showing an exclusive range of jewellery as part of the virtual Dazzle exhibition – Dazzle Invites.
Dazzle invites 30 contemporary jewellers, showing unique, one-off or limited edition designs, created specially for the exhibition. All pieces are available to purchase from 17 November – 10 January.
